AUC – Area under the curve

AUC is the area under the curve that shows the change in the concentration of a chemical substance in blood or plasma over time.

This value indicates how long and in what quantity the substance is present in the body, i.e. the total amount of exposure. AUC is used in studies on the absorption, distribution, metabolism and excretion (ADME) of chemical substances and is an important parameter for assessing the bioavailability of the substance in the body.
