“Hazardous substance/mixture” means substances or mixtures that have adverse physical, human health or environmental effects and meet certain criteria. Such substances or mixtures are classified according to hazard classes specified in the relevant regulations. The hazard class is used to determine the potential hazards of a substance or mixture and the severity of these hazards.
Substances or mixtures classified as hazardous must be appropriately labelled and packaged before they are placed on the market.
