“Restriction” refers to the conditions or prohibitions imposed on the manufacture, use or placing on the market of certain substances. The restriction process is applied to substances that pose unacceptable risks to human health or the environment. This process takes into account the substances listed in Annex 17 and the restrictions set for their use. In addition, these restrictions may be updated with new regulations and the availability of alternative substances and socio-economic impacts are also assessed.
