Scientific research and development

According to the first paragraph of KKDIK Regulation, Article 47, the placing on the market or use of a substance within the scope of Annex-14 is prohibited except under certain conditions. However, the manufacture, placing on the market or use of the substance within the scope of scientific research and development is not subject to this prohibition.
This exception aims to provide the necessary flexibility for the conduct of scientific studies. Annex-17 determines whether the restriction will apply to product—and process-oriented research and development and the maximum exempt amount.

In summary:
• The KKDİK Regulation restricts the placing on the market and use of certain substances.

• However, scientific research and development activities are exempt from these restrictions.

• The scope and limitations of this exemption are specified in Annex-17.
